Today is Easter, a very high holy holiday, particularly in Poland where I am landing next. As well, it is probably the major holiday in Moldova where I arrive tomorrow.
A few photos of buildings, old and new, in Krakow:
I feel very fortunate that my plane was rerouted to Helsinki--what a beautiful airport!--versus having to go through Heathrow, one of the most difficult airports in the world.
My current journey to Ukraine, and the goals and aspirations that our organization has. will further develop over the next few weeks. I'm excited to foster the work in progress as well as learning from those here on the ground.
I’ll have a chance to meet with the teachers in Lviv and Vinnytsya. I'll also meet with artists in Kviv to bring fine works of art back to the States. With luck, I will travel to Bucha where the invasion began in 2022, and then to Kharkiv where residents face constant bombing... But the people remain resilient and resolute in resisting this invasion.
My time time is limited but I'm also hoping to make it to Uman where my maternal grandmother was born. And if possible, I'll head out through Odessa.
The realities of war make it important to continue to resolutely develop our programs, collaborate with individuals and organizations that share our vision, and aid in every way possible to defend the world’s freedom.
